Maxine Laceby shares why you need to stop trying to please everyone
Are you looking after yourself - or are you trying to please everyone?
Our amazing founder and CEO, Maxine Laceby, asked herself this question when she turned 50 and the answer surprised her.
She realised that in much of her life she acted like a chameleon, taking on different roles for different people - as a wife, a mother, a daughter. She always put everyone else's thoughts and needs before herself, and she never realised who she was.
It’s easy to get trapped and lose sight of yourself when you put other people’s feelings and emotions before your own. But that kind of thinking can be dangerous for your personal growth and potential.
Watch the video to see why Maxine says you need to stop trying to please others and start focusing on yourself.
A journey to self-acceptance:
When Maxine turned 50, she took a step back and started to evaluate who she was. She stopped putting the focus on trying to please everyone and pointed the arrow inward. Her life completely changed: Maxine went from being a happy stay-at-home mother to being the owner of a beauty brand.
Now, at 53, Maxine has complete self-acceptance on many levels. She has her own style, her own look and is totally fine doing her own thing, not to mention having a successful business! She is living her life to its full potential.
Maxine is proof that you can live your life to your full potential and she is encouraging others to do the same.
There will probably be bits along the way that you don't like, but you have the power to change that. You are in control of your life so grab it and make every moment count. It’s never too late to make changes and put yourself first.
