June was a very busy month for me! I spoke at a number of events across the country, from the amazing women’s network DiscovHer’s Summer Event, to The Awakening Festival, to The Pure Art’s Group Trailblazers night.

One of the highlights was The Awakening Festival on the Isle of Wight.

Founded by the wonderful Kate Taylor - who runs the Practical Magic Podcast that I guest featured on last month -  Awakening Festival is a weekend-long gathering that celebrates mindfulness, well-being, and self-care.

I was fortunate enough to host a self-care session all about owning who you are and stepping into your own skin. It was an amazing experience to share my story and give tips on how to become an industry leader by being yourself.

Own who you are:

As most of you know, ‘own who you are’ is my life motto, a motto I was unable to fulfil until turning 50. Until then I wasn’t living to my full potential, I wasn’t being myself and I did not have a clue who I was supposed to be, so at 50 I decided to make my life a masterpiece.

That change allowed me to create Absolute Collagen. It gave me the confidence to trust myself and make the right business decisions, even though I didn’t have a degree, had not worked for 28 years and hadn’t as much as written a check in 15 years.

The power of S.I.R.:

I run my business on the power of S.I.R, and that’s what I believe makes you an industry leader. Ensuring customers should always feel safe, important, and respected.

Safe: Customers need to know your product, your site, and your company are safe options.

Important: They need to feel like they are a part of the community and are important to you and your business.

Respected: Last but not least, customers need to be treated with respect. You need to give them updated information and answers their questions with respect.

These three principles are what keep Absolute Collagen at the top of the market, and keep our customers coming back to us.

It was a whirlwind of a month, but all the talks and speeches I gave have the same message: own who you are. Just be yourself and keep your customers (and yourself) feeling safe, important, and respected. That’s how to become an industry leader.
