Maxine's March Round-Up: International Women's Day, Rickshaws In Sri Lanka and Birthday Celebrations!

5 mins By Maxine Laceby By Maxine

Hello my Absoluters! I hope everyone is doing well and they have had a fabulous March. Can I just say that this month might have been the most exciting and adventurous month yet. Adventurous you might ask? Well keep on reading to find out exactly what I’ve been up to!

International Women's Day

International Women's Day is something that is really important to me. At AC we celebrate women everyday but there's something about IWD that allows us to reflect and to truly celebrate the women around us who have done some incredible things, whether that be my daughters, the team or our incredible Absoluter community. You all deserve to step into your own spotlight and shine bright. I see you.

For this year's celebrations, Absolute Collagen hosted a dinner with some of the most incredible men and women in beauty. We held our event at Claridge’s in London which was a real treat as it was such a beautiful venue and we were joined by our phenomenal experts, Dr. Dave, Dr. Barton and Dr. Shotter, I am incredibly grateful to have such an amazing team of experts on board who genuinely love our products and most importantly understand our purpose to inspire and allow people to feel their very best. It was a special evening, filled with laughter and warmth and being joined by such an incredible group of people makes me realise and feel very proud of how far Absolute Collagen has come. Thank you to the team for organising such a beautiful event, it’s one I will never forget! 💛

Instagram Live!

Continuing the International Women’s Day fun, I hosted an Instagram live with three incredible women in beauty. I was joined by renowned Makeup Artist Ruby Hammer, award-winning Beauty and Diversity Advocate Ateh Jewel and Founder of Floral Street Michelle Feeny. Can you believe that little old me hosted a live with these three rockstars? I cannot tell you how excited (although nervous) I was to be discussing such important topics with such fabulous ladies! Our discussion was all about counting ‘her’ in and celebrating women in the beauty industry. It was so important to shine a light on all the different experiences had by each of the ladies in their lives. What a fantastic evening it was! If you missed out, don’t worry, you can head over to my Instagram and watch the live here!

Birthday Celebrations

I celebrated my birthday this month! The team at AC made me feel very special by surprising me with a gorgeous cake! I am honestly surrounded by the most incredible and thoughtful team, I feel very lucky. Birthday’s for me are always about a time of reflection so let me tell you what I have learnt. I’ve learned that everything happens for a reason, even the things that may seem like such a negative at the time, will make sense at some point. It’s always important to remember that all the little hurdles we have to jump over will always make sense for a bigger and better future. Secondly, I've learned that when no one thinks you can, YOU CAN! You are more capable than you think. Finally, I’ve learned that you should never try to be someone you’re not, always bring you to the party and remember that you will be appreciated just the way you are. 💛

60 Things Before I’m 60

As you may have seen from my Instagram I have set myself a challenge to do 60 things before I turn 60 years old! I have decided to embark on this journey to prove to myself that anything is possible and I want to see how many things I can achieve no matter how big or how small. It all started when I found my bucket list from 12 years ago, from before I started my business at 50 and it made me so emotional to read what I had aspired to do. Can you believe that at the top of my list it said… Invent Something New… Wow, I couldn’t believe that I wrote that 12 years ago and boy did that one come true! We now have a collagen sachet that I made 8 years ago in my kitchen that is now taken every two seconds! It’s made me realise how far I’ve come in achieving things I didn't think possible and I want to take you on this new journey of doing 60 things before I’m 60. So join me as I embark on this new adventure. How exciting!

60 Things Before I’m 60 - The Rickshaw Run Across Sri Lanka

So, starting my adventure of completing 60 things before I’m 60 I decided to take my girlfriends to Sri Lanka to race Rickshaws! What a way to start this series! My 3 best friends and I go away together every March, but this year I thought lets do something a bit different. I said “leave it to me...” and there we had it, The Rickshaw Run Sri Lanka, it was booked. My friends may think I’m crazy (they may be right!) but I wanted to take them out of their comfort zone, and let them know they are bloody amazing. We had a FANTASTIC time racing those rickshaws, it was definitely hard at times but we pulled through and made it all the way to the finish line. 🇱🇰🛺

If you want to see exactly what we got up to on this wild and wacky adventure make sure you’re following me on Instagram and TikTok! I can’t wait to show you what we’ve got coming next!  https://www.instagram.com/maxinelaceby/

I cannot wait to share with you what's coming next for Absolute Collagen. Thank you all for reading, I'll see you all next month! Bye! 👋🏻
